1. Who runs Tutoroot

Tutoroot is run by Jay Crumbine. In these terms, “we” and “Tutoroot” mean that operator. You can reach us on the Contact page.

2. What Tutoroot is

Tutoroot helps students practice for the ISEE. It includes study guides, practice questions, practice tests, a daily study plan, a review list, progress tracking, and a read-only view for parents. Tutoroot is not affiliated with or endorsed by ERB. ISEE is a registered trademark of ERB.

3. Practice results are not official

Scores, percentages, and progress in Tutoroot are practice results that help you decide what to study. They are not official ISEE scores or stanines, and they do not predict or guarantee a score or a school’s admission decision.

4. Accounts and age

• You sign in with a Google account. Keep your sign-in secure, and do not let other people use your account.
• If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms and is responsible for your use of Tutoroot.
• Children under 13 may use Tutoroot only with a parent or guardian’s permission.
• Tell us if you think someone else has used your account.

5. The parent view

A student can share a private student ID with a parent or guardian. A parent who links with that ID can see the student’s profile details and practice progress. Parents can look, but they cannot change a student’s work. Only share your student ID with someone you trust. The Privacy page lists exactly what is saved and shown.

6. Using Tutoroot fairly

Please do not:

• copy, sell, or share Tutoroot’s questions, guides, or tests outside your own household;
• use bots or scrapers, or try to break or get around the app;
• try to reach other people’s accounts or information;
• share your account with others; or
• write anything harmful, hateful, or private about other people in your essays or reports.

7. Our content and yours

Tutoroot’s software, design, and content belong to us. We give you permission to use them for your own ISEE practice, not to resell them. Your essays and notes stay yours. By using Tutoroot you let us store them and show them back to you so the app can work. If you send us feedback or report a problem with a question, we may use it to improve Tutoroot without owing you anything.

8. Features can change

We may add, change, pause, or remove features, including turning features such as tutor chat on or off. If we add features that change how your information is used, we will update these terms and our Privacy page. We try to keep Tutoroot running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors.

9. Cost

Tutoroot is currently offered at no charge. If we start charging for any part of it, we will show the price, how renewal works, and the refund policy before you pay, and we will not charge you without your agreement.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using Tutoroot at any time. To delete your saved Tutoroot data, open Progress and choose Delete my profile and practice results. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk.

11. No promises about perfection

Tutoroot is provided “as is.” We work hard to make our questions and explanations accurate, but we cannot promise they are free of mistakes. If you find one, choose Report a problem with this question or write to us. Tutoroot does not replace a teacher, tutor, or school counselor.

12. Limits on our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses from using Tutoroot. Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Tutoroot after a change, you accept the new terms.
